I enjoy this idea of “bumping into” as a form of archive formation. How does this work into ideas of amateurism? The naturalist seeks out encounter, the amateur or the dilettante “bumps into.” How does this play into us as researchers into the non-human (that refrain of “well, we’re not scientists”)? How might this play into the encounters (sought out, planned, or bumped-into) that future users of the park (including the potential artists involved in the Rouge project)? How does this flavour this particular idea of the archive?
